Built on “Barrack Hill” to accommodate the Royal Engineers in the 1930s, the Old Changi Hospital was converted to a hospital in 1947 to serve the newly formed Royal Air Force Station Changi. Reputed to have been one of the best medical facilities in the Far East, the hospital, with its proximity to the sea, was well liked by all who received treatment there.
